ATLANTA (February 1, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that effective today, the firm has merged with Mazursky Constantine LLC, one of the largest law firms in the Southeast that focuses solely on employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA litigation.

The Mazursky Constantine team brings years of experience in employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA litigation. Twelve attorneys, including partners Don Mazursky, Randall Constantine, Glenn Infinger, David Putnal, Emily Friedman, Toby Walls, Teri Forehand King, Kelly Meyers, and Angela Roberts will join SGR as a result of the merger. Also joining from Mazurky Constantine are Amy Heppner, counsel, along with associates Jamey Medlin and Alex Smith.

“SGR is thrilled to announce the merger with Mazursky Constantine,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner. “Their team of highly respected employee benefits and executive compensation attorneys, when combined with our existing practice in that area, immediately creates a preeminent practice group at SGR.”

Don Mazursky, managing member of Mazursky Constantine, commented, “Our entire team is very pleased to join SGR. One of the main attractions in making this move was the opportunity to combine and work with the talented group of benefits and compensation attorneys who already reside with SGR.” He added, “This combination gives us one of the largest and most experienced groups of employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA litigation attorneys in the U.S. and an even greater ability to serve our existing clients and expand our practice.”

Along with Jacksonville Partner Andy Fawbush, who has been leading the SGR Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, Mr. Mazursky will serve as Co-Chair of the combined practice group.

The extraordinary depth of the expanded practice has allowed SGR to establish the “SGR Fiduciary Institute.” This new institute combines multiple disciplines within the Employee Benefits, Executive Compensation and ERISA Litigation Practice to focus more intently on, and to provide practical leadership with respect to, the most significant legal, operational and business issues that companies face in the employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA litigation area. Mr. Fawbush and Mr. Mazursky will be Co-Leaders of the SGR Fiduciary Institute.

Continuing its strategic growth within the U.S. and internationally, SGR has expanded with the opening of new offices and firm mergers over the last two years. Most recently, in December 2018, the firm announced its 10th office in Miami. In January 2018, SGR opened a Los Angeles office by combining with a California business law firm. In early 2017, SGR opened three international offices in London, Southampton, and Munich and expanded the New York office, which included the acquisition of a boutique law firm.
