Inclusion and Belonging

At Smith Gambrell & Russell, we recognize that attracting the widest array of talent enhances our ability to serve our clients and our communities. We are dedicated to a collaborative work environment where each person is valued for their unique perspectives, experiences, skills, and talents; is treated respectfully, is able to communicate openly, and is encouraged to develop to their full potential as a contributor to our collective success.

To formalize our commitment SGR has established an Inclusion Committee focused on creating a culture of belonging. Those on the Inclusion Committee represent a variety of perspectives, nationalities, life experiences, cultures, orientations, and backgrounds that enrich our collective consciousness as a firm. The Inclusion Committee meets regularly, both as a group and with firm management, to offer input on firm policies and practices.

Embracing our culture of belonging is an integral part of SGR’s growth story, and we are actively implementing measures to foster inclusion across the firm. Recognizing that our initiatives are pivotal to our overall success, we remain committed to these principles by supporting various civic and non-profit organizations to build a talent pipeline for our future.

SGR’s identity is deeply rooted in the fundamental respect for human relationships, mutual sharing of experiences and respecting the dignity of every individual. SGR cultivates an environment that encourages every person to freely express their authentic selves in a professional manner.

Maintaining and advancing our status as a leading law firm is only possible by fostering inclusive representation that attracts and retains the highest caliber of legal talent regardless of background.

When students become part of our team, we provide educational and mentoring programs to foster their advancement and support their on-the-job training. We foster an environment where our professionals can flourish and build successful careers within SGR.
