About Teri

For more than 25 years, Teri King has helped employers and fiduciaries navigate complex employee benefits and executive compensation matters with practical, business-focused advice that reduces risk and supports organizational goals. She provides day-to-day consulting on plan operations, designs benefit plans and policies that align with business goals, drafts plan documents and employee communications, and trains fiduciary committees and benefits teams on compliance and risk management. Teri's approach centers on clear, actionable guidance that helps clients stay ahead of regulatory changes, market shifts, and mounting litigation risks.

Teri assists clients in selecting and monitoring service providers, negotiating administrative services agreements, and coordinating government audits. She helps employers develop compliant and effective governance frameworks, communications strategies, and administrative practices that withstand regulatory scrutiny. When plan errors occur, Teri advises on corrections through IRS and DOL programs, helping clients maintain qualified status and avoid penalties. Teri helps clients navigate the tax and regulatory requirements governing executive compensation, including Section 409A compliance, and routinely addresses compensation-related issues in corporate transactions.

Teri has guided pension derisking and plan termination projects for plans ranging from $30 million to multi-billion-dollar programs, advising fiduciaries through strategic evaluation, regulatory compliance, and execution. When disputes arise, Teri works closely with litigation teams to develop defence strategies informed by her deep understanding of plan operations, fiduciary processes, and administrative practices.  Teri advises employers across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, financial services, retail, transportation, hospitality, and real estate, tailoring solutions to each client's operational and regulatory environment.

In her free time, Teri enjoys connecting with nature through gardening and hiking.
