ATLANTA (August 5, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in connection with the financing of its joint venture partnership with Young’s Market Company (Young’s). SGR also provided assistance in the joint venture transaction and related licensing matters.

The joint venture partnership between RNDC and Young’s expands on their existing Arizona partnership. Outside of Arizona, the two wholesale beverage distributors have no geographic overlap, resulting in 33 complementary supplier markets in 32 states and the District of Columbia. The combined companies create an $11 billion empire, the second largest in the market at a 19% market share. RNDC will lead operations and serve as managing partner of the joint venture for the Young’s markets, which are now a division of RNDC West.

The SGR Atlanta legal team included partners Jay Schwartz and Julie Sebastian and Associate Nicholas Flint in the Corporate Practice, along with Ronald Barab in the Finance Practice. Partner Brandon Sherlinski in the Jacksonville office handled employee benefits and ERISA matters.
