Michael A. Kolcun Receives Florida Bar Board Certification in Business Litigation

TAMPA (September 3, 2026) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (“SGR”) is pleased to announce that Michael A. Kolcun, Partner in the firm’s Tampa office, has received The Florida Bar’s Board Certification in Business Litigation.

This certification is the highest level of recognition by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in this specialty. Fewer than 220 attorneys out of more than 113,000 licensed in Florida currently hold this certification. Business Litigation is one of the 27 practice areas attorneys can obtain certification in.

Board certification demonstrates a lawyer’s significant commitment to and experience in a specialty field of law. Board-certified lawyers have dedicated themselves to a heightened level of excellence through character, professionalism, ethics, and credibility in the practice of law.

Kolcun’s practice is focused on commercial litigation disputes including breach of contract, partnership/joint venture and shareholder claims, and other business torts. He represents a range of clients from large corporations to start-ups, as well as investors and individuals. As an experienced litigator, Michael has prosecuted and defended numerous actions in state courts in Florida and New York, and in federal district, appellate, and bankruptcy courts and arbitration tribunals throughout the U.S.
