Partner / AtlantaThomas H. Hong is a Partner in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP and serves as the Finance Partner of the Firm. He is also a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

Full Bio
Mr. Hong concentrates his practice on advising a wide variety of clients on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border structuring, joint ventures, venture capital transactions and general international business matters. He has represented both institutional and strategic buyers and sellers in various transactions, including mergers, stock sales, asset sales and spin-offs. Mr. Hong represents clients in many industries but has a particular emphasis on manufacturing clients and as such he co-chairs the Manufacturing Practice Group of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
In connection with his M&A practice, Mr. Hong has extensive experience assisting clients with Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and related transactional antitrust issues.
He received his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1993. In 1997, Mr. Hong received his J.D. degree from Emory University School of Law. He is a member of the California and Georgia State Bars.

- Acquisition of Texas based manufacturer of precision pressure measuring and calibration instruments on behalf of leading European client.
- Sale of premier Southeastern region distributor of logging equipment in the United States on behalf of private equity client.
- Acquisition of Oregon based manufacturer of pulp and paper industry products on behalf of Scandinavian publicly traded client.
- Acquisition of a servicer of pulp and paper machinery based in Louisiana on behalf of Scandinavian publicly traded client.
- Sale of dishwasher components manufacturing operations in Mexico to major US appliance manufacturer on behalf of European client.
- Acquisition of Massachusetts based manufacturer of specialty clad metals on behalf of European client.
- Acquisition of a global leader in sustainable urban transportation on behalf of a green tech investor.
