Smith Gambrell Russell Represents Client Valmet in Acquisition of Coldwater

ATLANTA (March 8, 2022) – Smith Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that the firm served as legal counsel to Valmet, Inc., the leading global developer and supplier of process technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries, in its acquisition of Coldwater Seals, Inc., a global provider of consumables and services to the pulp and paper industry. The transaction closed on March 1, 2022.

Valmet’s acquisition of North American-based Coldwater and the operations located in Atlanta, Georgia and Appleton, Wisconsin in the U.S. and Kil, Sweden supports the company’s strategy of expanding its consumables offering. Coldwater operates manufacturing facilities within the United States and Sweden and has technical service representatives in more than 70 countries.

The SGR legal team included Partner Tom Hong, Partner Julie Sebastian, and Associate Harison Puder in the Atlanta Corporate Practice, Phillip Hoover, Partner in the Atlanta Environmental and Sustainability Practice, and Brandon Sherlinski, Partner in the Jacksonville Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice.
