ATLANTA (June 28, 2018) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to 15 East 57th Street Associates in its sale of the property at 15 East 57th Street in Manhattan to Chanel, Inc. for approximately $81,466,000. Chanel, Inc., the American arm of the French high-fashion retailer, has occupied the building since 1993, which includes its Manhattan headquarters and flagship retail store.

Once a six-story building and home to several antiques dealers, the 15 East 57th building is a prime example of East 57th Street’s evolution into a fashion mecca. Completely occupied by Chanel, the building was expanded to 17 stories in 2006 and was given a multi-million dollar renovation in 2016.

The SGR New York legal team included Dana Mark, Partner in Private Wealth Services and Real Estate Practice attorneys, including Associate Dexterrie Ramirez, Partner Anne Pitter, and Partner Eliot Zuckerman. Atlanta’s Joe Mandarino, Partner in the Tax Practice, also assisted.
