Smith, Gambrell & Russell Represents Big V Property Group in the Acquisition of The Rim, the Largest Outdoor Shopping Center in Texas

ATLANTA (May 5, 2021) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to Big V Property Group in its recent acquisition of The Rim, the largest outdoor shopping center in Texas, from Hines, a privately owned global real estate investment, development and management firm. The power center acquisition is one of the largest retail deals completed in the United States over the last year. The transaction closed May 5, 2021.

Located in one of San Antonio’s most desirable growth areas, The Rim is an outdoor shopping center with 2 million square feet of retail space for more than 100 premier stores, restaurants and service businesses, as well as luxury residences and an exclusive boutique hotel. Among the shopping center’s national retailers are Old Navy, Target, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, DSW, JCPenney, Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth, Lowe’s, Burlington, Starbucks, and Chick-fil-A. This unique mix of traditional retailers, restaurants, entertainment destinations, and multifamily and hospitality operators offers one of the most diverse and powerful retailing environments in San Antonio.
