Smith, Gambrell & Russell Represents Big V Property Group in Acquisition of Westside Centre Shopping Center in Alabama for $35.9 Million, its Largest Acquisition to Date

ATLANTA (May 16, 2019) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to Big V Property Group (BVPG) in its recent $35.9 million shopping center acquisition of Westside Centre in Huntsville, Alabama. This is the New York-based investment management company’s largest acquisition to date.

Westside Centre is located along the University Drive retail corridor in Huntsville, Alabama. At 655,638 square feet, the shopping center is shadow-anchored by Super Target with national tenants including Big Lots, Stein Mart, Tuesday Morning, PetSmart, Ross Dress for Less, Shoe Carnival, and Party City. Additionally, the center has a diverse mix of smaller national and local restaurants and service-oriented tenants.

Over the last year, SGR has advised BVPG on a variety of shopping center related matters, including six separate acquisitions. The SGR legal team was led by New York Real Estate Practice Section Head and Partner Sean Altschul along with Partner Eugene Bryant and Associate Matt Moore in the Atlanta Real Estate Practice.
