NEW YORK (August 24, 2026) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (“SGR”) is pleased to announce that the Firm successfully represented J&N Records LLC, J&N Publishing LLC, 829Music Mundial LLC, and Mayimba Music, Inc., securing $1,200,000 in statutory damages for direct copyright infringement, contributory copyright infringement, and vicarious copyright infringement in the Southern District of Florida.
Harley Boys Entertainment, LLC d/b/a Road Runner Entertainment, Inc., HBE Media Holdings, Inc. and Luis Alfredo Silverio a/k/a Luigui Bleand are permanently enjoined and restrained from directly or indirectly: reproducing, publishing, distributing, transmitting, promoting, or selling, or authorizing, enabling, or assisting any third party to reproduce, publish, distribute, transmit, promote, or sell the Copyrighted Works, dozens of sound recordings and musical compositions.
“This is a unique case in that three independent music companies joined forces to protect their rights, said Roger Juan Maldonado, Partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the firm’s New York office. “Their collective decision to allocate time, energy and funds to litigate was driven by Defendants’ wrongful exploitation of Plaintiffs’ copyrighted works for nine years prior, despite numerous warnings by the Plaintiffs to cease and desist. The Defendants ignored Plaintiffs’ warnings, resulting in the Court’s entry of judgment against them. We are pleased with this result and the precedent it sets.”
