ATLANTA (August 3, 2021) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that the firm served as legal counsel to Ruby-Collins, Inc., a general contractor specializing in water and wastewater projects, in its acquisition of Southern Horizontal, a leader in the trenchless underground construction industry.

For the past 20 years, Southern Horizontal has been known in the utility construction industry for its expertise in the rapidly-growing sector of trenchless technology, particularly horizontal auger boring (HAB or “Jack and Bore”). With this acquisition, Ruby-Collins is now better able to serve its clients with the ability to self-perform reliable and economical Jack and Bore services.
