SGR Recognized as a 2020 Am Law 200 Firm for Sixth Year in a Row; Advances Six Spots

ATLANTA (May 20, 2020) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by The American Lawyer as a 2020 Am Law 200 firm for the sixth consecutive year. Once again, SGR improved its standing on the list by advancing six spots from 2019, as a result of the firm’s continuing growth and increase in revenue. SGR is one of only 21 firms in the “Am Law Second Hundred” with a double-digit increase in gross revenue.

The Am Law 200, a ranking of the 200 highest-grossing law firms in the United States, is reported by ALM business of law journalists and researchers. The list is published annually with a first portion, the Am Law 100, followed by the Second Hundred comprised of the firms ranked 101-200.

“SGR continued to grow, experiencing record revenue and profit in 2019, and the firm’s rise on the Am Law 200 list reflects that success,” said Steve Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner.

Following several years of expansion nationally and internationally, the firm continued its growth in 2019 adding more than 35 attorneys across offices, including a significant merger with Atlanta employee benefits firm Mazursky Constantine in February. In addition to strengthening the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice, lateral hires announced throughout the year also enhanced the firm’s practices in Litigation and Intellectual Property, among others.
