SGR Elects Five Associates to Partnership

ATLANTA (January 1, 2016) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of Eugene D. Bryant, Julie A. Sebastian, John F. Weeks IV, James H. Cummings and Michael P. Regan to its partnership effective January 1, 2016.

“We are pleased to elect such a talented group of attorneys to partnership within the firm,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s managing partner. “Our new partners demonstrate the highest level of dedication to the firm and their practices, as well as the utmost commitment to servicing their clients.”

Mr. Bryant is located in the firm’s Atlanta office. His main practice is in the area of transactional real estate. Mr. Bryant represents lenders and developers in commercial real estate transactions and has experience in general real estate and special assets. He received his bachelor’s degree and his J.D. from the University of Georgia. Mr. Bryant served as Senior Notes Editor of the Georgia Law Review and was recipient of the F.M. Byrd Scholarship.

Ms. Sebastian is located in the firm’s Atlanta office where she focuses on corporate law. Her experience includes mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance with publicly and privately held companies. Ms. Sebastian received her bachelor’s degree from Hope College and her J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and Tennessee Law Review.

Mr. Weeks is located in the Atlanta office of the firm and focuses on commercial litigation. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. Weeks earned his J.D. from Mercer University Law School where he received the faculty award for excellence in legal writing. He was also a member of the Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Team, Vice-Chairman of the Moot Court Board and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers.

Mr. Cummings is located in the firm’s Jacksonville office. His main practice is commercial litigation. Mr. Cummings was named a Florida Rising Star in 2012 and 2013 and a Barrister of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court in 2013 and 2014. He received his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He earned his J.D. degree from Florida Coastal School of Law where he was a Staff Editor of the Law Review. Mr. Cummings was also a Governor's Scholar, a Dean's Scholar and recipient of several book and writing awards.

Mr. Regan is located in the firm’s New York office where his focus is commercial litigation. His experience includes representing clients in federal and state court and in arbitration. Mr. Regan serves on the Committee on State Courts of Superior Jurisdiction and is a member of the Dartmouth Lawyers Association. He received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Mr. Regan also earned an LL.M. degree in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law, with honors, from Fordham Law School.
