With the U.S. Treasury Department's long-awaited employer contribution framework for Trump Accounts now proposed, Partner Lisa Carrasco spoke with Bloomberg Law to discuss what the guidance resolved — and what remains unsettled for smaller businesses.

Lisa noted that smaller employers may have a harder time with implementation. Outstanding questions about how contributions will be transmitted, the role of third-party vendors, and forthcoming IRS investment guidance mean many smaller employers are still in a holding pattern. For those eager to move by 2027, Lisa advises considering limiting participation to employer-only contributions to reduce administrative complexity while the regulatory picture comes into focus.
