About Robert
Robert I. Paller has particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. He is involved on a continuing basis with a number of corporations providing legal services as general counsel. Mr. Paller is involved extensively in the representation of private equity funds both on the buy side, as well as the sell side. He has significant experience in representing companies that are being sold as well as companies that are acquiring other entities.
A native of Atlanta, Robert received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina in 1956. He earned his LL.B. degree from Emory University in 1958. While at Emory he was named the Outstanding Student in Federal Income Taxation, he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Equity and was a member of the Law Review staff. Upon graduation, Robert served in the United States Air Force for three years as a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Division and was discharged with a rank of Captain. Robert joined the Firm in 1961 where he practiced tax law and was extensively involved in the Firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice.
For 15 years Robert served as a member of the Board of Directors of Innospec Inc., a specialty chemicals company whose stock is listed on NASDAQ and whose fuel specialties business is the largest dedicated fuel treatment company in the world. Robert is a member of the Council of National Trustees of National Jewish Medical and Research Center, the countries leading respiratory hospital located in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Paller is a past President of The Standard Club which is the oldest private club in the state of Georgia having been founded in 1867.
