About Michael
Hans-Michael Kraus acts as general counsel for numerous foreign companies and their respective U.S. subsidiaries as well as trusted advisor to family offices on a broad range of commercial issues. He has expertise in structuring cross-border investments and corporate acquisitions in Europe, Asia, and Australia, with a particular focus on the representation of clients originating from Germany, Switzerland and Austria (DACH).
Michael regularly advises multinational clients on legal issues involved in setting up manufacturing facilities in the United States, including negotiation of state and local grants, tax abatements and related real estate, environmental and labor issues. He has gained expertise in the automotive, renewable energy, steel, logistics and food industries and serves on the Board of Directors for select international companies. Michael has been appointed by the Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau – VDMA (German Machinery Association) as its collaboration attorney in the United States.
He is a frequent speaker, domestically and abroad, on legal and tax aspects of international mergers and acquisitions and business operations in the United States and well known for his “hands-on” approach to transactions.
