Dr. Stefan Buske, LL.M. possesses almost 30 years of experience in the field of law, having practiced in both the United States and Germany.

He focuses his practice on asset and structured finance transactions, with emphasis on rolling stock finance, including leasing, sale and lease back, tendering, procurement and maintenance-/services-agreements. Clients describe him as “assertive with strong grasp of the rolling stock industry” and as “experienced, knowledgeable counsel with high business acumen”. Moreover, Stefan has extensive experience in international, cross border M&A, leverage finance, including aviation, and project financing. From the start of a project to its completion, Stefan provides guidance to financiers, investors, lessors, transportation companies, and public sector agencies.

  • Advising the buyer on the acquisition of a U.S. tableware supplier with transaction volume in excess of US$50m.
  • Structuring of project-finance of methanol production facility with transaction volume of EUR180m.
  • Advising a consortium for an infrastructure project in Africa (value exceeding EUR2bn) from the tender phase, including the structuring of project financing and drafting and negotiation of the early works agreement.
  • Assisting in the structuring of a tender, including the financing and procurement of new S-Bahn vehicles with a value exceeding EUR3bn.
  • Advising on the tender and drafting of contracts for the procurement of more than 400 freight wagons for freight operators valued at EUR50m.
  • Advising in connection with the procurement and maintenance of hydrogen-powered multiple units.
  • Advising on the procurement and financing and full-service maintenance of 120 locomotives for European railway company, with a value exceeding EUR600m.
  • Drafting of contracts and lease agreements for a globally unique sales center for manufacturers of premium automobiles.
  • Advising in the structuring, procurement, full-service maintenance, and financing of innovative hybrid locomotives for a pre-eminent railway undertaking.
  • Providing legal counsel in the acquisition, purchase, modernization, and leasing of passenger cars for a leasing company.
  • Providing consultation for a manufacturing supplier for delivery of specialized manufacturing machines to China.
  • Assisting in the acquisition of a company focused on de-carbonization of commercial and public transportation on behalf of a green tech investor.
