2024 PR Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP Partners Gregory Kirsch and Gregory Smith Selected as Georgia Trend’s 2024 Legal Elite 12.2

ATLANTA (December 2, 2024) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce that Partners Gregory Kirsch and Gregory Smith have been recognized as Georgia Trend magazine’s 2024 Legal Elite. The Legal Elite, which has been recognizing lawyers for more than two decades, is a list of Georgia’s top attorneys in the state selected from 15 different practice areas, as nominated and chosen by their peers. Mr. Kirsch was recognized in Intellectual Law and Mr. Smith in Real Estate/Construction Law.

Gregory J. Kirsch is a Partner and the Head of the Intellectual Property Practice. Mr. Kirsch serves as patent counsel to clients ranging from large multinational corporations to small start-ups, as well as universities. His practice encompasses the entire range of patent law, including patent procurement, strategic patent portfolio development, patent opinions (infringement, validity and patentability), post grant proceedings, licensing, as well as patent litigation.

Mr. Kirsch serves on the Board and on the Executive Committee of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce-Southeast, and is a past Chair of the State Bar of Georgia’s Intellectual Property Law Section. He’s also been active in the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association, and is a past Chair of that section’s Patent Policy Committee.

Gregory (Greg) K. Smith is a Partner in the Construction, Energy, and Government Contracts Practices. Mr. Smith practices in all areas of construction law, energy law, contract law, and government procurement. His practice consists of dispute resolution and litigation, counseling in contracting issues, counseling in government procurement, and the drafting, structuring, and reviewing of energy, construction, and other contracts.

Mr. Smith is a founding member and vice chair of the State Bar of Georgia’s Construction Law Section. He serves on the steering committee for the International Construction Division of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law. He is also the Southeast Regional Director for the Society of Construction Law North America.
