SGR Partner Parker Sanders Named to Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40 List for 2017

ATLANTA (October 5, 2017) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Partner Wm. Parker Sanders has been recognized on Georgia Trend magazine’s 2017 40 Under 40 list. The 21st edition again honors the 40 best and brightest talent under age 40 in Georgia.

The nominees, which were submitted by Georgia Trend readers, were narrowed down to 40 by the magazine’s editorial staff. This year’s distinguished 40 Under 40 represent a spectrum of professionals from across Georgia in business, government, politics, nonprofits, science, healthcare, and education. Mr. Sanders is a partner in the Litigation Practice of SGR, co-chair of the Manufacturing Practice and is also a member of the firm’s Antitrust, Arbitration, and Transportation Practices. He has experience in complex business litigation, with a focus on disputes involving antitrust, trade regulation, the False Claims Act, and products liability issues. Mr. Sanders has been involved in multi-district class actions and arbitrations, and he has worked with the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission on various matters. Additionally, he has handled state and federal court litigation disputes across the country as well as non-litigation matters, such as distributorship and merger issues and negotiating and drafting contracts and sales agreements.

Previously, Mr. Sanders was named to Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite and completed LEAD Atlanta, Leadership Atlanta’s leadership program for young professionals. He is a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association, the Antitrust and Litigation Sections of the State Bar of Georgia, and currently sits on the board of the General Practice and Trial Section as a “Member at Large.” Mr. Sanders has been appointed to the Criminal Justice Act panel for the Northern District of Georgia, and has been selected several times to the list of Rising Stars for Georgia Super Lawyers.

Mr. Sanders is active in SGR’s pro bono initiatives and is a past recipient of SGR’s Fellowship to Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc. He has served on the ServiceJuris Hands on Atlanta Steering Committee, been a board member and a member of the Executive Committee for the Grant Park Conservancy, and a member of the Atlanta Beltline 67 (AB67), an advisory board to the Atlanta Beltline Partnership. He has volunteered for an inner city Boy Scouts of America® troop for more than 10 years and been involved extensively with the McCallie and Sewanee alumni groups.
