Smith Gambrell Welcomes Global Transport Associate Courtney Leon to Miami Office
MIAMI (October 20, 2025) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce the arrival of Associate Courtney Leon to the Firm’s Miami office.
Ms. Leon joins the Firm’s Global Transport Group where she advises global and domestic financial institutions, arrangers, investment managers, and leasing platforms on complex structured finance, asset-based lending, and transportation finance transactions. Her practice includes the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of aircraft, aircraft engines, and other transportation assets, as well as structuring, negotiating, and administering securitized products such as collateralized loan obligations, asset-backed securities, residential and commercial mortgage-backed securities, cross-border and domestic loan facilities, warehouse credit facilities, and lease-backed financings.
Before joining the Firm, Ms. Leon was an associate at a New York–based law firm where she represented lenders, arrangers, trustees, and investors in a wide range of securitization, structured finance, and distressed asset transactions, with a focus on transportation and infrastructure-related financings.
She received her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
Smith Gambrell’s global transport (Aviation) practice has served as external general legal counsel and represented several airlines, both passenger and cargo, in virtually all aspects of their business.
