ATLANTA (June 12, 2017) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the firm served as legal counsel to Ironwood Capital Partners, LLC in the sale of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Timbervest, LLC, to Domain Timber Advisors, LLC. The transaction closed on May 30, 2017.

A $1.2 billion real assets fund business, Timbervest, LLC includes the infrastructure and human resources responsible for a timberland portfolio that spans across the U.S. in major timber-producing regions, as well as environmental restoration projects comprised of mitigation and conservation banks across the U.S. The acquisition by Domain Timber Advisors, LLC, an SEC-registered timberland investment advisor and an affiliate of Domain Capital Advisors, LLC, creates additional investment opportunities for investors and increased potential for customized timberland solutions available to clients.

The SGR Atlanta legal team included Partner Jay Schwartz and Associates Nicholas Rueter and Emily McConnell in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.
