Smith Gambrell Russell Partner Roger Maldonado Named to the 2022 Transportation Power 100 by City & State New York Magazine
ATLANTA (August 8, 2022) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Partner Roger Juan Maldonado has been named to the 2022 Transportation Power 100 by City & State New York magazine for his leadership on the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA’s) new “Fareness” Blue Ribbon Panel. Covering New York’s local and state politics and policy, City & State New York compiled the Transportation Power 100 list to feature the most important figures navigating New York City’s complex and complicated transportation ecosystem.
Mr. Maldonado was recently invited to serve on MTA’s “Fareness” Blue Ribbon Panel to address fare evasion through “education, equity, and enforcement.” In July, he was appointed its co-chair alongside Rosemonde Pierre-Louis, executive director of the McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy & Research at New York University.
Mr. Maldonado is a partner in SGR’s New York Litigation Practice. For nearly 40 years, he has represented, counseled and advised businesspeople, in-house counsel, governmental entities and others in the resolution of complex legal matters. Mr. Maldonado is past president of the New York City Bar Association (City Bar), and as a native of Puerto Rico, he was the organization’s first Hispanic president.
Previously, Mr. Maldonado was honored by City & State New York on the magazine’s lists of The 2020 Power of Diversity: Latino 100, The 2020 Law Power 100, The 2019 Law Power 50, and The 2018 Responsible 100.
