ATLANTA (July 11, 2022) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the Intellectual Property (IP) attorneys who have been recognized in the IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals of 2022. Mr. Kirsch is a Partner in and the Department Head of SGR’s IP Practice. Dr. Jarecki-Black is Senior Counsel in SGR’s Atlanta IP Practice, where she leads SGR’s growing biotech/chemistry patent team. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Jarecki-Black is a seasoned and accomplished patent and IP attorney, including in both private and corporate practice. She has received a number of honors, including 2022’s Feather in Her Cap award in Animal Health; Chief Patent Counsel of the Year for Intellectual Property (ILO Global Counsel Awards); Intellectual Property Community Service Award (GSU College of Law, Atlanta Bar Association, and State Bar of Georgia), and the Pro Bono Award for community service (Atlanta Inn of Court).

Mr. Riesen is a Partner in the Firm’s Atlanta IP Practice and also serves as Co-chair of the Entertainment Practice and Executive Director of SGR Labs. As an IP attorney, a Solicitor (England and Wales), and a registered U.S. patent attorney, he is focused on creating solutions for his clients and providing the best client experience to ensure trust and results. Mr. Riesen’s work includes IP portfolio management and diligence, domestic and international patent prosecution, agreements, patent litigation, trademark prosecution, copyright management and licensing, technology transfer, regulatory compliance, and open source issues.
