SGR Partner Jill Bechtold Appointed to Steering Committee for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s 2022 Midyear Meeting
ATLANTA (July 15, 2021) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that Partner Jill Bechtold has been appointed to the Steering Committee for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC’s) 2022 Midyear Meeting. The annual event will be held February 19-24 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ms. Bechtold accepted her membership to the IADC’s invitation-only organization of approximately 2,500 corporate and insurance defense attorneys and insurance executives in 2016. She was previously on the Steering Committee for the IADC’s 2017 Annual Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal.
As a partner in SGR’s Jacksonville Litigation Practice, Jill Bechtold practices in the area of civil litigation with focus on medical and professional liability defense, product liability defense, trucking litigation, and insurance defense. Ms. Bechtold is a nationally recognized speaker on defense topics and has presented nationwide to more than 50 professional and defense organizations. She was a Barrister of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court (2014-2017) and is currently a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Florida Defense Lawyer’s Association, where she helped to establish the Women & the Law Committee and served as co-chair. Additionally, Ms. Bechtold was selected as one of 2015’s Women Leaders in Law by ALM Media, in partnership with Fortune magazine. In 2015, she was named a “Women of Influence” by the Jacksonville Business Journal for her leadership in Northeast Florida’s professional and civic community. Ms. Bechtold was appointed by the Office of the Mayor to the Jacksonville Children’s Commission (JCC) Board of Directors and is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville, Class of 2015. She is also past-president of the Board of Directors for Girl’s Inc. of Jacksonville, the local chapter of the national Girl’s Inc. organization. Ms. Bechtold helped create and launch the young professional’s division of the Board, G.I.R.L.S. (Girl’s Inc. Rising Leaders Society).
