SGR Client, Finnish Company Oilon, Opens New U.S. Headquarters in Thomasville, GA
ATLANTA (June 15, 2016) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that its client, Oilon, a Finnish energy and environmental technology company, has opened its first U.S. office and North American corporate office in Thomasville, Georgia. The company held the ribbon cutting ceremony at their new 32,000-square-foot headquarters on June 2. The company leased a Thomasville facility during the prior 18 months.
With facilities in China and an office in Russia, Oilon manufactures oil, gas and dual fuel burners for power plants, industrial processes, hazardous waste incineration plants, district heating plants and ships. Business operations also include industrial heat pumps and refrigeration solutions as well as various applications for domestic heating, such as heat pumps, burners, solar heat collectors.
SGR represents Oilon, as well as many other Finnish companies with business interests in Georgia. SGR Partner and Honorary Consul of Finland John Saunders attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony. For his extensive work as Honorary Consul of Finland for the State of Georgia, Mr. Saunders was recently bestowed the honor of Knight, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland. The recognition was presented by Ambassador Jukka Pietikainen, Consul General of Finland at the Finnish American Chamber of Commerce’s Independence Day celebration in Atlanta.
Regarding Oilon’s new U.S. headquarters, Mr. Saunders said, “Definitely has a positive impact but it also sends a good message back to Finland that companies that work hard and do their preparation and have good management can succeed here.”
