Jackie Van Laningham is a Partner in the Litigation Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Ms. Van Laningham is an experienced civil litigator whose practice spans complex commercial disputes, contract and employment litigation, and trust and probate matters in state and federal courts. She represents companies and individuals in business torts, fiduciary duty and estate-related disputes, Section 230 immunity issues, and administrative rule-challenge proceedings.
She earned dual B.A. degrees, magna cum laude, from the University of Florida in Classical Studies and Russian, with a minor in Anthropology. Ms. Van Laningham holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Florida State University College of Law, graduating in the top three of her class.
While in law school, she was an Executive Editor of the Florida State University Law Review, a member of the Florida State University Business Review and of Moot Court and was actively involved in Phi Alpha Delta as its Treasurer and Vice Justice. Ms. Van Laningham received four Book Awards for earning the highest overall grade in those respective courses and also published a Student Note in the Florida State University Law Review in 2016, for which she received the Outstanding Student Note Award.
