About Thomas

Thomas Dydek represents clients in disputes and a broad range of commercial litigation matters, bringing a perspective shaped by work as in-house corporate counsel, outside general counsel, and as a federal judicial clerk. He advises businesses navigating complex disputes, including breach-of-contract actions, white-collar investigations, and real estate controversies. His background in risk management enables him to help clients evaluate exposure, align litigation strategy with business objectives, and anticipate downstream consequences. Thomas combines procedural fluency gained through drafting federal court opinions with practical judgment developed through managing high-stakes claims.

Thomas handles intellectual property litigation and general commercial disputes for businesses across industries. His practice includes breach-of-contract actions, real estate and land-development controversies, white-collar investigations, and risk-related disputes.

Before joining Smith Gambrell & Russell, Thomas served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, where he drafted opinions on dispositive motions in complex civil and criminal cases for the four federal judges in the Camden vicinage. That experience gave him insight into how judges evaluate arguments, assess evidence, and manage crowded dockets, a perspective he applies when crafting motions and litigation strategy for clients.

Before law school, Thomas worked in the insurance industry for nearly five years, advising municipal governments and commercial clients on risk management and the placement of specialty liability policies, including cyber, professional liability, and directors’ and officers’ coverage. In his free time, Thomas enjoys reading and football.
