Charys R. O. Smith is an Associate in the Litigation practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Ms. Smith earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Florida State University College of Law in 2025. During law school, Ms. Smith served as Executive Editor of the Florida State University Law Review, staff editor of the Journal of Land Use & Environmental Law, and as both Intramural Chair and a competitor on the FSU Law Moot Court Team. In addition to previously working as a Summer Associate for Smith, Gambrell & Russell while in law school, Ms. Smith was a Fellow at the Florida Supreme Court, externed with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, and clerked for several private firms. Through her previous employment, Ms. Smith gained experience in commercial litigation, employment law, government regulation, and public finance.
Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with Special Honors and a minor in Journalism and Mass Communication from The George Washington University. She also went on to earn a Master of Science in Criminology from Florida State University. Her scholarship will appear in the Journal of Transnational Law & Policy in 2026.
Born in England and raised in Saudi Arabia, Ms. Smith likes to spend her spare time traveling. Outside of the office, she enjoys going to the beach, reading, trying out different adventure sports, and attending concerts.
