About Sanjiv
Sanjiv serves clients in the bankruptcy, financial restructuring, and creditors’ rights sectors, helping clients navigate complex insolvency matters with practical clarity and strategic insight. He brings substantial experience from the federal judiciary, having clerked for the Hon. Benjamin A. Kahn in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. In that role, he drafted hundreds of opinions and orders and managed the court’s bankruptcy docket. This unique vantage point provides him with a deep understanding of insolvency issues from both the court’s and clients’ perspectives, enhancing his ability to align legal solutions with client objectives efficiently.
Sanjiv’s practice focuses on complex Chapter 11 restructurings, fraudulent transfer claims, and creditors’ committee representation. Sanjiv is especially skilled at navigating contested matters, adversary proceedings, and procedural strategy in bankruptcy court, helping clients mitigate risks and achieve practical outcomes aligned with their business goals.
Sanjiv graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as Internet and Symposium Editor of the Law Review and received the CALI Award for Judicial Opinion Writing.
Outside of work, Sanjiv enjoys playing tennis and basketball and spending time with his family.
