About Jeffrey

As COO, Jeff is responsible for the firm's administrative and business operations.  As both a visionary and analytical leader, Jeff works closely with the Managing Partner, Executive Committee members and Practice Group Leaders on strategic planning and Firm policy issues. In addition, he leads a talented team of senior business professionals in human resources, marketing & business development, accounting & finance, information technology, and library services.

Jeff held senior leadership roles in law firms for more than 25 years, providing strategic guidance and leadership to firm leaders, lawyers, and all levels of staff.  During his career he has launched offices in new markets; developed successful client and business development initiatives; managed numerous office construction and relocation projects; has been a key participant in law firm merger and acquisition initiatives; led the development and execution of a variety of growth strategies; managed actual major firm disaster recovery efforts; initiated critical technology and system conversion projects; and been instrumental in the restructuring of firm governance, practice groups and compensation systems.

At Smith Gambrell & Russell, Jeff is a member of the Firm's Executive and Compensation Committees and several other Firm committees, in addition to representing the Firm in civic and professional capacities.
