About Tommy

Tommy Duffy represents public and privately held companies, both domestic and international, in a wide variety of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, private equity and venture capital financing, financing and commercial transactions and general corporate representation.  He has helped clients acquire and sell companies in a broad range of industries, including construction, technology, personnel services, manufacturing, healthcare, financial services and building services.

Tommy also frequently serves as outside general counsel to clients, providing practical guidance on business formation, corporate governance, equity financings and related transactional matters.

While in law school, Tommy served on the Georgia Law Review as a Managing Board Symposium Editor and a Member of the Editorial Board. He also worked as a Legal Research Teaching Assistant for Professor Amy Taylor.  Outside of work, Tommy can likely be found in Athens, Georgia cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs or traveling with friends and family.

  • Represented an international staffing agency in multiple acquisitions of personnel services and staffing businesses.
  • Represented a premium sand mining and production company in its sale to a leading construction aggregates company.
  • Represented a provider of HVAC, building automation and energy services in its sale to a private equity-backed national services platform.
  • Represented a leading global technology company in its successful acquisition of the leasing business of a managed services provider specializing in cloud, infrastructure and IT security solutions.
  • Represented a global industrial manufacturing company in the strategic realignment of a joint venture with a U.S.-based manufacturer, including the formation of a new majority-owned joint venture to consolidate North American operations.
  • Represented a digital systems provider in a majority investment from a growth equity firm.
  • Significant experience representing clients in a variety of sell-side transactions to private equity and private credit groups across multiple industries.
  • Significant experience representing private and publicly traded companies in a range of acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations, as well as in connection with corporate governance and compliance matters.
