Michael K. Desmond

Mike Desmond has vast experience handling a variety of complex business matters, including accounting and legal malpractice, shareholder litigation, construction litigation, corporate investigations, bankruptcy reorganizations and bankruptcy-related litigation. In addition, he has trial experience in both federal and state court. A certified public accountant (CPA), Mike previously served as an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University College of Law, where he taught basic financial accounting for lawyers. Prior to joining the practice of law, Mike served as assistant controller for Mid America Bank.

Mike has been appointed to serve on the private panel of bankruptcy trustees maintained by the U.S. Trustee for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division.

Prior to joining SGR, Mike served as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the U.S. Trustee, where he handled a variety of bankruptcy-related litigation and complex business reorganizations.
