Asha Dhillon

Asha Dhillon is a Partner in Smith Gambrell & Russell's Labor & Employment Practice. With more than 25 years of experience, she represents employers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to emerging businesses across a variety of industries, including entertainment, financial services, hospitality, staffing, utilities, oil and gas, and real estate.

Asha focuses her practice on employment litigation and counseling, handling matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, wage and hour compliance, employee classification, and other workplace disputes. She has extensive experience defending employers in both individual and class actions, including claims arising under federal and state employment laws and California’s Private Attorneys General Act of 2004 (PAGA).

An accomplished trial lawyer, Asha has served as lead counsel in jury trials and arbitrations and is known for developing practical, business-focused strategies that align with her clients' goals. In addition to litigation, she advises employers on workplace compliance, drafts employment policies and agreements, and provides day-to-day counseling on workforce management issues.

Asha also has significant experience advising clients in the entertainment and media industries on a wide range of business and intellectual property matters, including publishing rights, name, image, and likeness (NIL) issues, royalties, and disputes before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

A native Angeleno, Ms. Dhillon is an avid food enthusiast who stays on top of the city's ever-evolving dining scene, from Michelin-rated restaurants to the best food trucks, and the newest restaurants featured on Eater L.A.'s Essential 38. When she is not in the office, she can be found watching basketball or enjoying live music under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl.
