Mr. Lischer has been practicing law since 1973. His practice involves all areas of patent law as well as work in trademark and copyright matters. The focus of Mr. Lischer’s practice is patent litigation and patent prosecution. He has been involved in patent cases relating to fiber optic ground wire cables, nuclear fuel cells, tantalum dipped capacitors, computer controlled cutting machines for the garment industry, golf clubs and balls, metal bi-fold doors, pressure infusion intravenous bags, telephone answering and call progressing systems, telephone dialing equipment, worn brush sensors for electric motors, spinal braces, concrete reinforcement fibers, concrete accelerator additives, escalator drive mechanisms, satellite communication systems, strain gauges for stamping machines, simulated wood flooring, soft drink packaging, network management software, network security software, medical imaging software, publication software, condensate water pumps, paper making equipment, protective packaging machines, automobile security systems, window shades and fire resistant enclosures for electronic equipment.

Mr. Lischer has served as an expert in patent cases involving firearms, liquid condenser systems for use in the manufacture of thermosetting resins, awning support structures, radiation spectroscopy systems, airport x-ray equipment, leg and elbow braces, satellite television systems, network management software, specialized software for university registrations and records, soft drink packaging, sewing equipment, and modems.

In Mr. Lischer’s patent prosecution, he has prepared and prosecuted patents in a wide range of electrical and mechanical technologies. He has prepared and prosecuted patents relating to computer operating systems and software, computer interface hardware and software, word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software, telecommunications systems both wired and wireless, network security software, voice and TV over IP software and satellite uplink and downlink systems. He regularly renders clearance opinions for clients including design alternatives. He has also been regularly involved in trademark matters for clients.

Mr. Lischer received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and his law degree from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Georgia Bar and is admitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In 2009, he was selected for inclusion in Georgia Super Lawyers for Intellectual Property Litigation.
