Chinese and American Officials Meet to Discuss Clean Energy Cooperation

Last week, top Chinese and American officials – including Chinese President Hu Jintao – met to discuss clean energy cooperation among the two countries. China and the United States are the two largest emitters of greenhouse gases. Chinese representatives also report that, by 2020, China plans to have double the economic output it did in 2000 so that, by 2050, China could be using half the world’s energy.
