Full Bio
Todd S. Pickard is a transactional corporate and real estate lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience. He endeavors to work with his clients to determine both their needs and, often more importantly, those of their counter-party to structure and close successful transactions.
Over the years, Mr. Pickard has represented cooperative apartment corporations and condominiums in all manner of legal and business issues. He has structured and closed on the purchase, sale, leasing, financing, refinancing and development of income-producing real property. In recent years, Mr. Pickard has represented foreign purchasers of US real property, primarily multi-family and primarily from Israel and the Netherlands. In connection with those investments, he has prepared and negotiated partnership agreements, limited liability company operating agreements and other joint venture documents. His corporate practice includes both acquirers and acquired companies in mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments as well as general counsel to operating businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups.
Mr. Pickard is committed to the proper role of real estate and design in his community. As such, he is a long-time supporter of the Design Trust for Public Spaces, a not-for-profit dedicated to the future of public space in New York City. He also collects 20th Century furniture and art. On weekends, he is often on the East End of Long Island swimming, gardening and grilling.
Mr. Pickard graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in mathematics and obtained his juris doctor from Stanford Law School.

- Represented the purchaser/developer in the acquisition of property for the ground up development of a luxury condominium apartment building in Brooklyn, New York
- Represented the purchaser/developer in the acquisition of property for the ground up development of a residential condominium building in Brooklyn, New York
- Represented the purchaser/developer in the acquisition of property for the ground up development of a residential condominium building in Brooklyn, New York
- Represented 80% of equity in purchase of shopping center in Rising Sun, MD
- Represented equity in purchase of 3 apartment complexes in Charlotte, NC in two separate transactions
- Refinanced parking spot condominiums and retail project in downtown Brooklyn in two inter-related transactions
- Represented not-for-profit and JV partner in acquiring section 8 housing project in East Harlem
- Represented not-for-profit in connection with lease- and lease dispute- in East Village
- Acquired small apartment buildings in Brooklyn for blind pool and organized blind pool
