Michael F. Holbein is a Partner in the Finance, Banking, and Restructuring Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Holbein is a commercial litigator and restructuring lawyer. He advises financially distressed businesses and individuals in debt restructuring, bankruptcy, and bankruptcy alternatives. He also represents parties in state and federal court litigation and secured and unsecured creditors in all aspects of bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructuring. Mr. Holbein is a seasoned litigator with significant experience at both the state and federal trial and appellate levels, prosecuting and defending complex, seven- and eight-figure commercial disputes, fraudulent-transfer and preference claims, lien-avoidance litigation, dischargeabiltiy lawsuits, and contempt actions for violations of the automatic stay and discharge injunction.
Mr. Holbein earned his law degree with honors from the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law and graduated cum laude with a degree in English Literature from the Honors Program at Stetson University.
