Smith, Gambrell & Russell Welcomes 8 New Attorneys, Including Former SGR Partner and Real Estate Veteran Bill Rogers

ATLANTA (October 15, 2018) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of seven new attorneys to the firm, including the return of real estate veteran Bill Rogers. Globally, SGR has added nearly 30 laterals and new attorneys this year. The firm also has been celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2018.

William S. Rogers, Jr. returns to the firm as Counsel in the Jacksonville Real Estate Practice. Mr. Rogers focuses his practice on the acquisition, leasing, development, and financing of commercial real estate property in the Southeast and across the country, with a particular focus on the acquisition, sale, and financing of medical office buildings and other healthcare related assets, shopping centers, and retail developments. He was previously with SGR from 1985 to 2004 during which he served in several leadership roles, including Managing Partner of the Jacksonville office, member of the Executive Committee, Head of Recruiting and Summer Programs, and Head of the Real Estate Practice. Mr. Rogers was most recently with Capital Law & Advisory Partners, LLC and its predecessor firm, Beavers/Rogers Law & Advisory Group, LLC. Previous to that he served as General Counsel of a closely-held national real estate investment/development company.

Recently hired Law Clerks and Associates include:

Audria K. Crain is a Law Clerk in the Atlanta Real Estate Practice. She represents clients in commercial real estate and corporate transactions including real estate sale, purchase, and leasing, as well as corporate mergers and acquisitions. Upon completion of her M.A. from the University of Denver, Josef Korbel School of International Studies, Ms. Crain worked as a business analyst at a Fortune 1,000 payment processing company. She earned a B.A. from Columbus State University and her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Peter S. Daines is an Associate in the Jacksonville Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits Practice. He received his undergraduate degree from Utah State University in 2013 and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. Mr. Daines went on to earn his LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2018.

Daniel Q. Horner is an Associate in the New York Construction and Litigation Practices. He represents real estate owners, developers, lenders, construction managers, general contractors, and subcontractors regarding issues that arise during all phases of a construction project – beginning with contract drafting and negotiation, to pre-suit resolution of disputes, to litigation of a variety of disputes. Mr. Horner earned his B.A. from Mount Saint Mary’s University. He received his J.D. from Catholic University of America in 2015.

Vincent Pulignano III is an Associate in the Jacksonville Real Estate and Corporate Practices. He focuses in the areas of general business and corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance issues, securities law and sports law issues, and commercial real estate law, including acquisitions, sales and development, finance, and leasing. Mr. Pulignano received his B.B.A. from the University of Georgia in 2012. He earned his J.D. from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 2016.

Michael A. Tyner, Jr. is a Law Clerk in the Atlanta Corporate Practice. He focuses on general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Tyner received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law. He has previous experience as a law clerk with a large firm in South Carolina and as a semester extern with the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to law school, Michael worked as a stock broker at two of the world’s largest financial companies.

Steven A. Vickery is a Law Clerk in the Atlanta Litigation Practice. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago. Mr. Vickery earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Prior to practicing law, he was a high school teacher and track coach at Marist School in Atlanta.
