ATLANTA (July 21, 2020) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of lateral attorney James P. Lambe to the firm’s Global Transport Practice. Mr. Lambe joins SGR from United Airlines where he was Managing Counsel – Flight & Fleet. As a member of the Global Transport Practice, he will work on a variety of structured finance transactions and asset purchase and sale transactions, working closely with Partner Joshua Gentner who joined SGR in 2018.
Mr. Lambe represents and counsels clients in connection with a wide variety of asset finance transactions, including mortgage financings, operating leases, export credit agency supported financings, and U.S. leveraged leases. He handles matters related to aircraft, aircraft equipment, locomotives, and rolling stock. Additionally, Mr. Lambe has advised clients in connection with several bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring transactions and has extensive experience with the sale, purchase, and consignment of aircraft and aircraft equipment.

Prior to joining SGR, Mr. Lambe served as Managing Counsel – Flight & Fleet at United Airlines. He has also previously held positions as Senior Counsel at the Export-Import Bank of the United States and as Shareholder at Vedder Price in Chicago.
