Smith, Gambrell & Russell Elects 3 Attorneys to Partnership

ATLANTA (January 2, 2020) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce the addition of Michael R. Glanzman, Gregory K. Smith, and Svetlana Zagorina to its partnership effective January 1, 2020.

“We are pleased to elect these three deserving attorneys to the firm’s partnership,” said Stephen Forte, SGR’s chairman and managing partner. “They have contributed to the success of the firm through their exemplary service to SGR’s clients. We are also proud of each of them for their dedication to serving the community at large.”

Michael Glanzman is a partner in the New York Construction and Litigation practices. He focuses his practice in the areas of construction contracting and commercial litigation and regularly assists a diverse set of clients, including real estate owners, developers, lenders, construction managers, general contractors and subcontractors with the initial drafting and negotiation of contracts. Mr. Glanzman has significant experience litigating complex commercial matters in state and federal courts, as well as arbitrations and mediations. He also is committed to pro bono representation, having successfully represented refugees with respect to applications for asylum.

Greg Smith is a partner in SGR’s Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Construction and Government Contracts practices. He practices in all areas of construction law, government procurement, and contract law and consists of dispute resolution and litigation, counseling in contracting issues, counseling in all areas of government procurement, and the drafting, structuring and review of construction and other contracts.  Mr. Smith advises businesses in a range of legal, compliance, and strategic issues. He serves on the steering committee for the International Construction Division of the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law and was recently appointed as Southeast Regional Director of the Society of Construction Law North America.

Svetlana Zagorina is a partner in the New York office’s Private Wealth Services Practice with focus in the areas of estate administration and estate and tax planning. She represents individual and corporate fiduciaries and beneficiaries in various trust and estate administration matters, including complex fiduciary accountings, estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns, federal estate tax audits, and estate litigation. Ms. Zagorina appreciates both the practicality and complexity of trusts and estates and tax law and how important a role these particular fields of law play in mapping out the financial course of a person’s life.
