Smith, Gambrell & Russell Client Spirit Airlines Completes the Final of Six Airbus Aircraft Deliveries from Jackson Square Aviation

ATLANTA (February 5, 2020) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is pleased to announce that firm client, Spirit Airlines (Spirit), has closed on the sale and leaseback of the final of six new Airbus A320NEO aircraft with Jackson Square Aviation, a full service commercial aircraft lessor. SGR served as legal counsel to Spirit in the transactions, the first which closed in September 2019 and the sixth in December 2019. Delivery of these six new Airbus A320NEO aircraft confirm Spirit’s commitment to operate one of the youngest and most fuel-efficient fleets in the U.S.

SGR’s legal team was led by Partner Donald Mitchell along with Associate Erin McCallum of the Atlanta Global Transport Practice. Paralegal Therese Callahan in SGR’s New York office also assisted. The new Airbus A320NEO aircraft are six of the more than 20 lease transactions on which SGR has represented Spirit over the past year.
