Smith Gambrell Russell Represents Disclo in $5 Million Series Seed Investment Led by General Catalyst

ATLANTA (February 6, 2023) – Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP (SGR) is happy to announce that the Firm served as legal counsel to technology startup Disclo, which offers a groundbreaking compliance technology and employer accommodation platform, in its $5 million Series Seed round led by General Catalyst with participation by Y Combinator, Bain Capital, Lerer Hippeau, and other prominent investors.

Disclo, an Atlanta-based startup co-founded by Hannah Olson and Kai Keane, is a third-party software utilized by employers in order to manage employee disclosures within the guidelines of HIPAA and ADA regulations, which prohibit employee health information from being stored in human resource platforms. Disclo provides employers with an innovative solution to verify employees with health conditions through healthcare providers without violating employee privacy or disclosing underlying health information, help negotiate accommodations, and timestamp each interaction to provide back up and engagement by both parties.

Previously, Hannah and Kai developed Chronically Capable, a career platform that connects job seekers who have chronic health conditions with job opportunities and remote work.

The SGR legal team was led by Patrick Tierney, a partner in the Firm’s New York office, Erin McCallum and Rett Peaden, partners in the Firm’s Atlanta office, and Harison Puder, an associate in the Firm’s Atlanta office.
