Daniel Rodriguez is an Associate in the Corporate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Mr. Rodriguez’s practice focuses on advising clients on different aspects of business planning, tax, and estate planning. He has experience writing tax-driven estate planning documents for high-net-worth individuals including wills, gifting, trusts, GST trusts, and revocable living trusts. He advises clients on business formation, LLC and partnership agreements, structuring investment and business holdings, and on ongoing business and tax compliance matters. Daniel helps draft trust income and estate income tax returns and form 706 elections, and has written memorandums on legal ethics, healthcare law, and tax law.
Prior to joining SGR, Daniel worked at Cohen & Caproni, a boutique firm in Atlanta that specializes in estate planning, business planning and tax planning. He completed his Master of Laws in Taxation at University of Florida Levin College of Law prior to joining Cohen & Caproni. Prior to that Daniel was an Associate at Hamilton, Price & Marshall, a firm that specializes in civil litigation in personal injury and construction.
Daniel J. Rodriguez earned his B.A. in Human Communication from the University of Central Florida. After graduating, he began his legal studies at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. While in law school, he worked as a teaching assistant and assisted with legal research and writing. He also completed a semester overseas in The Hague Study Abroad program in the Netherlands. While earning his J.D., he worked at Raymond James Trust, drafting and editing trust administration, real estate and special assets, and investment policies and procedures.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys the outdoors, traveling, vintage Harvey Davidson motorcycles, and collecting vinyl records.
