Full Bio
His practice focuses on representing utilities, contractors, and energy developers in construction project development, energy transactions, and regulatory matters. He has experience representing clients in energy project finance and development transactions, corporate structuring, and power project mergers and acquisitions. He has also assisted in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, conducting real estate due diligence, and advising clients on request for proposal matters.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, and a student attorney in the Corporate Counsel Externship Program and the First Amendment Clinic. He is also a published author on issues at the intersection of intellectual property, technology, and global markets.
In addition to his law degree, Mr. Hashemi holds an M.B.A. and B.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

Representative Experience
- Real estate outside counsel to an independent power producer in its sale of a 1,000 MW solar photovoltaic project in Yuma County, Arizona.
- Outside counsel to a leading steel fabricator in connection with the financing of a $200 Million secured loan for a vanguard steel plant in Mojave, California.
- Real estate outside counsel to a regulated utility in connection with the planned acquisition and ongoing development of a majority interest in two 300 MW wind energy facilities located in Lafayette and Iowa Counties, Wisconsin.
- Part of a legal team that served as lead outside counsel in connection with the structuring and negotiation of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreement of a 75 MW solar photovoltaic and battery energy storage system facility in Colorado.
- Part of a legal team that served as lead outside counsel in connection with the structuring and negotiation of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreement of a 396 MW solar photovoltaic energy facility in Coleman County, Texas.
- Part of a legal team that served as lead outside counsel to an investor-owned utility in connection with the negotiation, execution and closing of an Asset Purchase Agreement to acquire a 1,176 MW gas-fired generation facility located in Van Buren County, Michigan.
