Matthew Hashemi is an Associate in the Energy and Construction practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
His practice focuses on representing utilities, contractors, and energy developers in construction project development and energy transactions. He has experience representing clients in energy project finance and development transactions, corporate structuring, and power project mergers and acquisitions. He has also assisted in drafting and negotiating complex agreements, conducting real estate due diligence, and advising clients on request for proposal matters.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as Executive Articles Editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, President of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association, and a student attorney in the First Amendment Clinic. He is also a published author on issues at the intersection of intellectual property, technology, and global markets.
In addition to his law degree, Mr. Hashemi holds an M.B.A. and B.B.A. in Finance and International Business from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
