Tyler Cunningham is a Partner in the Real Estate Practice of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.
Tyler focuses his practice on a variety of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, development, financing (senior and mezzanine), leasing, and disposition of real estate. He represents real estate owners, investors, developers, advisors, real estate investment trusts (REITs), timber investment management organizations (TIMOs), and institutional lenders, in commercial real estate transactions across all major U.S. markets. Tyler has led transactions involving all major property types, including retail centers, industrial facilities, timberlands, office buildings, vacant land, hotels, and multifamily projects.
Tyler also has substantial experience handling analysis and regulatory matters related to foreign ownership of real property in the U.S. under state-specific laws, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA).
In addition to a broad real estate practice, Tyler has represented clients in a variety of corporate matters involving real estate assets, including mergers, acquisitions, entity formation, and general commercial contracts.
