Full Bio
Steve practices in the areas of transactional real estate, real estate financing, contracts and corporate law, including joint ventures and limited liability companies. His concentration lies in the areas of commercial and residential building purchases and sales, commercial leasing, cooperative and condominium law, mortgage financing, and construction and access agreements.
A representative listing of Steve’s clients includes high net worth individuals, real estate investors, developers and sponsors, cooperative and condominium boards and residential and commercial landlords, commercial tenants and lenders – both institutional and private. He has developed particular experience representing clients in the purchase and sale of multifamily apartment buildings. A significant part of his practice also includes commercial leasing in and around New York City.
His talent as a diplomatic negotiator has served him well and enables him to mediate disputes among disagreeing partners as well as craft settlements of contested issues. During turbulent and not-so-turbulent times, Steve’s leadership and spirit help keep the Firm and its clients on solid ground.
Steve is included in the Super Lawyers directory among the best attorneys as selected by peers and independent research.
Steve presently serves on the Advisory Board of the Training Institute for Mental Health, an organization dedicated to providing low cost therapeutic care and education. His past volunteer positions include service on the Zoning Board of Appeals in Briarcliff Manor, New York pro-bono counsel to Farm-On! and membership on the board of the Riverside Symphony as well as pro bono counsel to his local nursery school boards.
Steve received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1980. In 1985, he received his J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School, and clerked with U.S. Magistrate Ruth Washington.
