Associate / New York-
Full Bio
Paris Gyparakis represents financially distressed businesses, secured and unsecured creditors, and other stakeholders in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy cases. He counsels clients through Chapter 11 reorganizations, out-of-court workouts, and liquidations across multiple industries, focusing on practical strategies that preserve value and minimize risk. His experience includes navigating complex insolvency proceedings for debtors and creditor committees, combined with published insights on lien preservation and sovereign debt crises. Paris also represents parties in bankruptcy litigation including fiduciaries and avoidance defendants.
Paris is fluent in Greek. His bilingual capabilities and international perspective offer added dimension when working with clients facing multijurisdictional financial challenges.
Whether representing a debtor seeking to reorganize under Chapter 11, a secured lender protecting collateral, or an unsecured creditor committee maximizing recovery, Paris approaches each matter with attention to both immediate tactical decisions and longer-term strategic positioning. He understands that financially distressed situations require swift, informed action—and that preserving optionality often matters as much as the ultimate outcome.
His published work reflects sustained engagement with technical bankruptcy issues, including analysis of lien preservation in Section 363 sales and the interplay between international law and sovereign debt restructuring. During law school, he served as Senior Research Editor for the Journal of International Business and Law and received the Monica Gollub Endowed Academic Scholarship, reflecting an early commitment to rigorous legal analysis.
