James Henry Bratton, Jr. (“Mr. Bratton”), a former partner and colleague passed away in January 2019. Jim joined the law firm of Gambrell, Harlan, Barwick and White (now, Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP) upon his graduation from Yale University and spent his entire career with the Firm. Jim was a litigator and believed every good lawyer should know his or her way around a courthouse. Jim was an enthusiastic promoter of the Firm and its people and following his retirement in 2007, was often found eating lunch with his former partners and colleagues in the dining room. He was a cheerful scholar and extraordinary storyteller. Jim is survived by his wife, Alleen and their children, Susan, Jim and Margaret.
